k a a s……..

(Location – Satara, Maharashtra, India.)

This is one n only site like this in India. which is great biodiversity to experience. it is hot spot for photography enthusiastic & flower lovers. I also heard that Recently it has been declared as Biodiversity World Heritage Site by The UNESCO.

This is a home of more than 850 species of flowers and some of them are only found here. The plateau is located at altitude approx 4000F & is largely formed of basalt which is done by volcanic activates. lava come out from cracks & weak area of crust & spread. after many years of erosion by atmosphere a thin layer of soil accumulated on basalt which is not more than inch & because of this certain geographic location, altitude, climate it is perfect for species found on plateau. The plateau is barren  rest of the year & only bloom after monsoon. only for four to six week.

Best SeasonSeptember-October. This year October

Mostly best season is September when flowers in full bloom but it is also depend on monsoon if monsoon late then season also late. generally monsoon hit here in June first week that then best season is September but this year monsoon come late about one month that effect on season. many visitor of first & second week of September so much disappoint  we went there in third week still plateau is not in full bloom but we able to sight many flowers but in less batch.
