Delhi To Amritsar | 477 km

Settled bill & leave hotel at about 7.30 am. because, today also less than 500 km ride so I am relax. For comfort I added a threaded seat cover which was totally wet because of yesterday night rain. done some jugaad, I ask for hotel watchman Plastic bag but he gave me news paper which I put on my seat so somewhat my jeans not get wet. I look over sky sun was shown, no dark clouds means today is clear day so it was dry quickly I know. Yesterday my mobile mount was also broke down so until I get out of delhi I have to stop frequently to check route after that straight grand trunk road up to Amritsar. Grand trunk road which is also called sixth river of punjab.

1-2 times jumped signals & finally out of Delhi. Gulp some coconut water. Roads seems better ahead with tree lining by sideways & beautiful farmlands, feeling cool. traffic was not much, enjoying ride.

Couple of times I saw police squad on road. as I saw them I am slow down but they did not annoy me at any occasion. didn’t even check license, R.C other hand that charming, muscular, turbaned officer smile and say, you can go !!! I don’t know why because of proper riding gear or any other thing. normally we see in many Indian cities traffic police harassed other state vehicles for sake of 100 rupee note isn’t it…

Nearby Ludhiana I decided to stop for lunch found a place like a garden restaurant and I stop. park motorcycle near by table so I don’t need to remove luggage but when waiter came to took order he request me to park little further because there are a small Gurudwra in premises. I quickly park motorcycle outside of garden lining, in my proper sight. remove sack and kept with me because it had a Dslr and all valuable things. I ordered Dal tadka and roti which come in 20 min but here Dal means chana dal not toor dal but it was hot and delicious so in no time I finished it all.

Resume riding, I am over 90 somewhere and I saw bunch of people waving hand to oncoming vehicle to stop. at first I am didn’t get it what happening as I come nearer I saw they distributing something in glass. As i am in high momentum I am unable to stop at the spot. Later at the evening I come to know that occasion of Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom they are distributing chabeel(sweet, cool, non-alcoholic drink) roadsides to provide relief from the hot scorching sun to travelers.

About at 5.00 pm I am entered at Amritsar. I have a list of some budget hotels which I sort out from internet & one pay later hotel booking so I decided to look at pay later hotel first, if feels ok then stay nor find another from list. To reach there I want to check frequently route on map which is hectic now because of my broken mount. somehow I found hotel, it is adjacent to railway station little inside on small lane. I parked front of hotel and went to reception. there are two person at reception one charming turbaned old man and one another Bengali like person. The old man might be owner & other is manager. I showed him booking he greet me and pass that print to manager. he checked on computer and call bell boy he show me room it was nice specious with T.v. and free breakfast. so I decided to stay here. Quickly settled and refreshed. Switch on T.v and relaxing on bed, it was 6.00 pm. Still have some time if I want to sightseeing but I am not in mood and tomorrow whole day I dedicated to Amritsar sightseeing so not in rush. watching T.v. for a while, watch news where I come to know that occasion of Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom. there are live telecast from golden temple which is broadcasting some bhajan like melodies song. that’s melodies song soothing my ears. so listening for a while. Then decided to wash some of my stinky cloths so that they will dry up to tomorrow. so I kept T.v. on at background to listen those lovely songs and wash the clothes after that ordered dinner Jeera rice, Kadhi Pakoda & paratha and enjoyed dinner with watching T.v. after that went to sleep.
